Introversion
Introspection
My preversion
My reflection

My desire
How it wracks me
Light the fire
Wall entraps me

I hold the key
I locked the door
I shackled me
To think therefore

I am naught but a
Caterpillar
Thought-seeds mutter
Cortex fillers

Just semantics
Try to tell you
Pointless antics
No real value

I want it all
I need to see
To break this wall
And set me free

Realisation
Metaphoric
Contradiction
Mood euphoric

Wings are growing
Mirrors shatter
Meaning flowing
World of matter

Author's Comments

Written in a fifteen-minute burst of neural activity during an otherwise deathsome Linguistics lecture this afternoon. The title came first, from a discussion with Stacey earlier this morning. I don’t know if this will become a song or not; I kinda like how it flows when it’s just spoken. If I did create a musical interpretation it would be very minimalist; both because the words are rather minimalistic themselves and because I’d want them to stand out.

All I can say right now is "Wow..."

I'll say more after tomorrow when I have purged my brain of all that it has absorbed for my Final in the morning. Infact, you may find liek 45 comments of mine tomorrow night. :)

So I'm drawing a comic for school. It's eating my life. Sorry I'm not updating more. I'm busy getting credit...

Wheeeeeee! Thank you Dawn.

If in amongst those comments :) you point out that preversion is misspelt, it's deliberate. I forgot to mention that in the author comments.

It's all rather confusing, really.

yeah, i like it spoken too :-)

I like the rhythm of this when it is spoken. I also love the music you've written for it, though I think some of the vocals in the demo need work.

The imagery toward the end is just wonderful. Gives me tingles.

Good stuff :-)

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for the night. Set the man on fire...
